The Night Sousa Came to Town . . .
Great Traditional American Music!
America's most beloved band master and his Band
made four appearances to Enid. Celebrate their visits
with a re-creation of a Sousa Concert.


Soprano Maria Ferrante will provide the vocal fireworks
to cap off an evening of Marches, Overatures and light Classics
~ as first presented in Enid by John Philip Sousa

A Legacy of Creativity . . From Enid to the Nation's Capitol

October 22 & 23, 2005 ~
Jody Gatwood ~ Violinist

with the ESO ~ performing Andre Makris' violin concerto
Also ~ Brahms' AcademicFestival Overture
and The Firebird Ballet, 1919 Suite.
Violinist / Composer Andreas Makris attended Phillips University, and later became
the first Composer-in-residence of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C.
while also serving as an Associate Concertmaster of the NSO.
To celebrate his creative life, Violinist Jody Gatwood joins the ESO
to perform Makris' Second Violin Concerto

November 26 & 27, 2005
Christmas in Enid ~ 1905 . . .

How it all began . . . In December 1905,
Conductor Rhein Dyksterhuis and the Enid Players
gathered on the Courthouse Lawn to present
a program of seasonal favorites
followed by Christmas Carolling.

Usher in the 2005 Holiday Season as the Eso
recreates a concert with 1905 flare.
