in the Concert Hall at Enid Symphony Center -
seats 340 for a concert - with box seats

A two year renovation started in 1997
to bring life to a space that had been
vacant and virtually unknown for 50 years.

For accoustics reasons, the floor was painted to look like a royal carpet, without the sound dampening effect of carpeting. It is a several step process, done by Vicky Jackson and local artists.

The concert hall permanent seating was obtained surplus from the old theater at Ft. Sill Army Base in Lawton, Oklahoma. It was an 850 seat theater and we got good pieces for 340+ seats and paid for them to be totally refurbished ~ paint, upholstery and armrests.

The Grand Piano you see on stage is a nine foot Estonia ~ Made by the Tallin Company in the Former Soviet State of Estonia. Tallin started as a family company in 1893. A team of two craftsmen make three pianos a year. The instrument has a wonderful sound and is kept primely tuned. The wood used is Ash? from up north in the Ukraine. The grain is very fine due to the slow growth and the density gives a wonderful resonance and tone.
